Spire Logistics can also arrange storage for short periods should things not entirely to plan with your relocation. Warehousing facilities are available nationwide for our clients with self-service should you need access to your belongings prior to export.

Spire Logistics offer a bespoke export packaging and case making service for any item being shipped regardless of its volume.

We use various materials for export packaging depending totally on the products being exported. Plywood, sterling board, tongue and groove boarding. Palletising and re-usable exhibition cases are used for general sea / air cargo although we highly recommend using our vacuum packing service with the use of barrier foil bags and silica to ensure that any moisture-sensitive or electronic equipment stays secure and dry.

All Spire Logistics’ cases are paper and polythene lined with pallet bases unless otherwise specified. Additionally all cases are fitted with Tip and Tell movement stuckers which can ascertain whether the case has been tipped / incorrectly stacked during transit.

We use only heat treated timber certified by Timcom (link) the governing body for the export of wooden materials and approved by The Forestry Commission.

Spire Logistics can arrange packing at any of our warehouse facilities nationwide or offer the option of packing your goods on site at your premises.

Spire Logistics offer an international Ro/Ro (Roll On / Roll Off) service covering both imports and exports ensuring a more cost-effective means of shipment vehicles of higher age or lower value.

Ro/Ro can also be the perfect solution for the movement of larger mobile consignments such as caravans, horse boxes, plant machinery, cranes, cradled boats, trailers as well as tanks and other military vehicles as there are less restrictions on height and weight.

Ro/Ro is usually the ideal answer for those wishing to export family vehicles due to relocation as the cost in considerably lower than containerised vehicle exports, though those considering such methods of transport should be aware of the following factors:

• No other items (effects) may be loaded inside the vehicle
• The vehicle must hold no more than ¼ tank of fuel
• All legal paper for the vehicle will be needed to complete the export documentation
• To avoid paying import duties and taxes on your vehicle on its arrival at final destination, are are required to provide documentation confirming that the vehicle has been in your possession for a minimum of 6 months.

We operate both fork lifts (of various maximum payloads) and bale clamps to ensure the most effective, safe movement of your material during loading and unloading.

Spire Logistics also offer bonded storage facilities throughout the UK ideal for temporary imports or international trading companies. All UK sites have full in-house customs facilities to transfer from bonded to home use. This is complimented by offering the use of our import deferment account.

Covering the whole of Europe, we operate a wide range of fleet vehicles ensuring the fastest and most cost effective means of transporting your consignments.

Spire Logistics currently operate tail lifts, curtain siders, flat beds and smaller vans for an express pallet service both throughout Europe and UK.

We also operate vehicles fitted with rotary valve blowing equipment specially designed for the discharge of bulk powders and granules into silo storage. Bulk imports are greatly on the increase into the UK as more and more free-flowing, dry bulk commodities can be loaded into container liners and discharged in this way ensuring a safe, fast delivery with minimal risk of spillage or contamination.

Spire Logistics offer full customs and documentation facilities covering standard clearances into the UK for both trade and personal shipments, whether cleared into a bonded warehouse free of import duties and taxes, or cleared in full as home-use goods.

We offer the use of our import deferment account ensuring speedy payment of VAT and import duties to Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise therefore avoiding unnecessary delays.
